Perth, Australia too: https://www.education.wa.edu.au/mobile-phones - phones are banned from the start to the end of school. Primary students cannot have them on them, secondary students can but they must be off and out of sight (even at break times).

Some other videos I enjoyed from him.. many non Tesla related videos, and many with some math/research/engineering explanations showing up.

Lots of people claiming it's not possible, etc.. I always appreciate someone with decent knowledge throwing some math and engineering at it to get a ball park idea of how realistic it is.
Or as he called it in this video.. legit or nonsense :)
I personally find him over many years a healthy combination of car/math/physics knowledge, referencing research, skepticism and .. whatever you call excited about things without being dogmatic or a fanboy.
Can't say he's infallible, but certainly seems better than 99% of the people that either claim it must be fake, misleading or perfect and wonderful.. both would be on par for Tesla.
Worth mentioning he has both loved a Tesla in the past: (19 video playlist on the Model 3): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2ir4svMoaYicTBWWTJra...
And certainly should be considered to have some bias due to: Elon Musk Fired My Wife - I'm Selling My Tesla (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFLrDaV6nkE)
That said, spoiler alert, he finds the demos largely credible (but has debunked many things in the past, including some of the older Tesla demos like beating a Porsche with a Cybertruck while towing a Porsche: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J3H8--CQRE).. what combination of these things make it into production is another story.

They used to support iPads as HomeKit hubs before matter. I think because there is no thread radio in iPads?

I love the idea of local only apps woth no network comms. I do wish macOS had some way you could enforce that out of the box though. Rather than trust the claims of the developer.
Another app I love that does the same. Queryable which lets you natural language search your photos on device on iOS and predates most of the current AI craze (2022) and also apple adding this themselves to photos: https://queryable.app/

Why not leverage Apple Foundational models?
Downloads will already be on the machine.

There’s similar support from many banks in many countries. But obviously will be a bunch of work to support them all.
It also requires you generally to trust some third party with your data.

There is also ARM SystemReady which is an existing spec for this mainly intended for servers. But it’s not being followed well.
It’s crazy to need a million device trees on server or laptop class devices.

And for the full fail story behind it, fail0verflow hacking the PS3 presentation is great and covers the bug:

Most of the console hacking talks are great, both informative and entertaining.

Almost went past looking at this option, it has a far bigger ecosystem of both storage and auth plugins and otherwise looks to be more mature than I might have guessed from the passing comment.

I think for phone calls this only works on Facetime and for calls maybe only on Wifi.
SMS syncing is true. But if you have a phone and you're out and about you also need mobile data, so would otherwise need a second mobile plan. Or to swap the SIM over, which was easier with a physical SIM, more difficult with eSIMs.
