Not that I disagree that Codex wins out, but the deciding factor actually is - Codex Pro 20x is not available for purchase, indefinitely. So, what's the point of this discussion? People who already have the 20x sub are unlikely to cancel, and the rest of us can't access it.

So, keyword 'rational', I'm not sure any sufficiently large company is a rational actor.

Yes, at [tech corp dayjob], any dependency is likely to be banned for arbitrary reasons if you bring it to the attention of the wrong people. It doesn't have to go against any of our policies e.g. don't mention anything with GPL in the name around the "risk" people. In fact, do not ever talk to the "risk" people and hope they don't talk to you.

Latest news: Apparently, devtools are a legal risk. Basic reverse-engineering of client-side JS is now banned.

The delusions really seem to scale with headcount.

I would consider DeepL to be comfortably the best translation service for the 24 languages they support. Their decision to support a lot of the less spoken languages in the EU (which have quite terrible support in Google Translate) has made the internet much more accessible for older people in my country who generally can't read English.

SNAIGĖ makes everything locally in their Alytus factory.

Haven't heard about Šilelis before, but it does seem like a new company bought the trademark to sell repackaged junk from China.
