I've also noctua swapped many of my things!

One of my slightly embarassing ones was the fan on one of my Nanlite lights was always on, do I thought to swap it with a noctua one so at least it'll probably be quieter.

When I took it apart, it turns out it was already a 12cm noctua... Black edition.

Fantastic news, I may have to switch back (or combine this with Paseo on my phone). I hope the RAM usage is a lot better as Paseo tends to OOM now and again (the desktop app).

Isn't egui really cpu inefficient though? It repaints at 60fps if e.g. you move the mouse over it

These benchmarks seems to suggest that Flash Next performs best on Low thinking compared to the same model on higher thinking levels?

And that Qwen 27b outperforms both when set to high?

What quants are being compared here?

I've had no problem just asking an agent to do this. Just run !herdr --skill and ask any agent tab to rename all the sessions to something meaningful (use a cheap model if cost is an issue).

Or vibe code a script for this. I use pi so I just use a random cached session for this and rewind using /tree after (using local models so I don't care much about tokens).

The prefill rates are way faster on these cards compared to apple silicon, which affects TTFT and therefore usability for a lot of coding tasks, unless you fire and forget most of the time.

How about "genuinely"? Not sure why that one bothers me so much.

I don't understand how this can be, you can play competitive games over moonlight/sunshine, and I really don't recall being able to come close to that latency on RDP (though I haven't tried in about a decade)

I felt like you as well: I like to track sleep and my heart rate during sports and with the pixel watch it felt like I had to almost plan these events (and more annoyingly while travelling) around the charge state of my watch, until I realized I had two separate requirements: notifications (which I don't care about during sports or sleeping), and fitness tracking.

Unfortunately the solution ended up being paying google more money and getting a Fitbit air (which I can use for sleep tracking for an entire week-long trip without bringing a charger)

And only wear the pixel watch for my awake hours, which a 30 hour battery life is more than enough for, even if I forget to charge it for a night or two.

Another bonus is the Fitbit air is a lot more comfortable to sleep in, but of course I no longer care about the charge of my devices.

Annoyingly Claude doesn't support AGENTS.md out of the box.

And I just came back from Seoul where Gemini suggested local clothing labels I would have never found if I hadn't told Gemini what brands I liked already and to find similar ones. And it was bang-on style-wise (some of the shops were really hidden and out of the way).

Are you telling me that spending time writing an app to learn the guitar neck isn't the best way?? Blasphemy, I tell you!

Anyway here is my app of shame:

I also came to the realization after making this that my time was better spent transcribing, but I wanted to learn egui (and this was before coding agents, so it actually took some time).

One of the reasons I switched to arch from debian based distros was precisely how much faster pacman was compared to APT -- system updates shouldn't take over half an hour when I have a (multi)gigabit connection and an SSD.

It was mostly precipitated by when containers came in and I was honestly shocked at how fast apk installs packages on alpine compared to my Ubuntu boxes (using apt)

It's really jittery for me and freezes fairly often on my work macbook. I even have a Sol script to restart hammerspoon.

Still wouldn't work without it though (I run Niri at home)
