This popping up on hn is quite satisfying. I’m in the middle of (procrastinating) swapping out a noisy fan for a noctua in my kramer 728 which i use for improving the video quality out of a laserdisc player.

How long ago did you try it? Gemini models seem extremely capable to me. I've been using them in ag for over a year and to me the results are great. switching to opus in ag doesn't produce any better results for me

From a redaction point of view: I can't believe this is still happening. Surely by now all government and local government offices have a data/records person and policies about information handling. I guess it's not really sensitive info like the name of a government informant. Maybe they intentionally leaked it with a 'whoops, we tried' excuse.

If it really matters, block it out, print it, scan it, then send that.

If it really really really matters, block it out with random extra amounts of width, print it, scan it, edit the page images in paint to move the text to the right of a redaction forward or back a bit so people can't guess the words based on width.

Ah, good point. I had a 500 and a 1200 but I can't really remember the wider scene.

Your 500 had a 030?

Thank you, that is a nice simple concrete example of AI-ification in the photo.

It depends what you do outside. Historically shoes/boots/foot wraps were to protect your feet from the cold and from sharp things e.g. rocks, stones, spiky plants, spiders, snakes, ticks etc etc. Surely some of these conditions would still exist today even if outside was clean.

Do you have a pet dog or cat?

Generally speaking most dedicated PDF readers haven't implemented the nastier parts of the PDF spec that need a sandbox. Except adobe. They support everything because they wrote it. But they keep making it worse so I can't recommend them.

I haven't really tried sixel yet but I run wezterm as a daily driver and it is very convenient to be able to view images in the command line. e.g ls the directory and then run img foo.jpg on the images in the directory without needing to switch windows.

Punching Piers Morgan is not a sign of a character flaw.

disturbingly, when I was using antigravity with gemini pro it was actually quite good at working out 'why app slow' types of problems. Maybe I've been lucky but it seems really good at determining why something might be wrong. It may ask for more logging or diagnostics and run for a long time but it was really digging in and making changes or suggestions to solve the problems.

apples to oranges comparison. 1990 is early days for MS. 1990 is gorilla days for IBM.

Yep, if AI could do it so could out-sourcing it to India. AI is great for "almost" but not great at "exact"
