Fun grammatical fact that I only learned after years of speaking French: when borrowing words from other languages, you usually (not always) take the gender of the equivalent word in French, so technically it would be “de la memory” :)

To be fair Fred Rogers was a minister, but I would agree that his message to kids was mostly secular.

US beef production is actually slightly higher than 30 years ago. What has fallen is the cattle headcount (now the smallest since 1951) but heavier animals have kept total output up. The recent herd shrinkage owes more to drought economics and the normal boom and bust cycle of ranching than to cattle becoming unraisable.

Is it really toxic individualism if there’s a (mostly healthy) subculture dedicated to it, though?

In a “proper society” we could pass around the talking stick to reach consensus on a whole grab bag of things.

I’m not a tagger myself, but I do think there is something poetically democratic about people participating in the public forum in this way. At least, beyond the four-letter words and flying dicks, anyways.

My hot take: as long as the artists (or vandals I suppose, depending on your point of view) are talented, I don’t actually mind.

It adds a “lived-in” character to the space which I quite like.

Defacing small business owners’ property is obviously a dick move but if you’re at an abandoned warehouse, skatepark, or waterfront, I say go nuts.

I personally prefer including issues as git trailers:

    fix thing in foo

    Issue: ABC-123
Git has plenty of builtins for parsing and formatting these trailers, so you can easily create custom git log aliases that let you see them inline and parse them for use with CI.

I used Charles for a while and also jumped on the Proxyman bandwagon. It’s a slick tool and even works for remote debugging (i.e., an iPhone attached to your computer with a cable).

It’s not Tesonet, Proton is wholly self-owned and managed. Proton VPN was briefly sharing employees with Tesonet during initial app bringup, and that partnership is long over. Naturally due to competition and the huge importance of privacy in this space, people still bring this up, but Proton VPN does not and never will sell or share your data with anyone.
