That "big crowd" sounds just like people who want to believe in LLMs rather than think, or at least not think too much.

>and then had Claude run git status and it fell back to Opus as if I had just broken into the pentagon itself.

Maybe it's more like you asked a lieutenant to check the weather forecast for you, and it went away and sent back a sergeant in its place.

Correlation is not causation.

OK so this article is sort of about formal proof automation, but it seems more practically about Zstandard, which I very much enjoyed reading.

Could you please use a more readable variable-width font?

>Von Neumann is an interesting historical character that nobody has ever heard of

huh? He's pretty famous to anyone who has studied either the history of computing or of the development of the atomic bomb.

Are any of ChatGPT's statements erroneous? (how come Terence Tao gets this high quality output but I get hallucinations when I ask simpler math stuff?)

That doesn't mean it's more readable.

This retro-terminal-website trend is so weird. When I was growing up, all the computers had was a fixed-width character set. Then GUI operating systems came out in the early 90s and PDFs and web browsers. Free from the fixed-width tyranny.

It belongs in certain places, but readable prose is not one of them.
