Do you do AI evals on this?

I was daunted by the amount of components that goes into a basic RAG. I also ended up starting with "agentic retrieval", which I invented. And it seems that many others have invented same/similar thing. It is just so much easier to start with something simple and improve later on.

One of the fundamental problems in programming is the lack of well-defined and higher-level data types. The types that work out-of-the box similar to libraries. A big chunk of programming is about how to map real world concepts to data types and how to map types to other types. Still, often programmers use primitive data types like strings, ints, etc. for representing real-world concepts. Why don't we start delivering type-first libraries which focus on well-defined and well tested data types, so that you don't need to re-invent them every time. And make to them free of errors and easy to share (bundles with versions). Notoriously difficult data include monetary and money units, and how many times we need to ask chatgpt and stackoverflow people what is the correct way to validate phone numbers, urls, etc. before we start focusing on data types and validation? And before anyone has the chance I want to say that indeed libraries expose data types which you can use, but in that case a library should separate the data types from methods and depend on the data types (library).

I assume you know what CRUD stands for... Just wanted to share what I am using instead of CRUD nowadays. SCRWD is what I use both in API design and the backend implementation. This is the outcome of one extremely long hobby project, and for anyone interested in the backend (in Java) part you can check one part of the evolution [here](https://jarirajari.wordpress.com/2022/08/22/not-your-fathers...). And why I ended up to updating CRUD? Because a modern webapp that has a client and a server separated by an API caused semantic problems for me and I also felt that the source did not look clean. So hopefully, this post will give you ideas how to improve your code :)

True, excellent point about the availability. But homemade sheets are often tools you built yourself for you and not tools that you can buy from a store.

I see AirTable as a rich UI client that sits on top of data - btw, back in the days rich clients was a thing. I am curious how people would use server that is able to do business logic.

I agree that no system should be implemented in excel, but for many it is a good match to rapidly test or model things, or to write handy tools.
