Yes. I bet it was really fun debugging punch card computers.

Also, skills can be re-acquired, if needed. People are acting like it's the end of the world for them, like their knowledge will become impossible to understand anymore. I'm not as fast at solving equations as I was in high school, but I still understand the logic behind it.

We will adapt just fine, like we did before.

Counterpoint: trying to use Opus 5.5 to generate game design ideas, and it still sucks so much. It is always trying to see steer me into taking definitive decisions, while I'm trying just to explore the design space and compare various ideas against each other. Muddled, incoherent text, and not following my instructions make the process infuriating, and not very useful.

Not worth reading. A lot of whining about ChatGPT and lazy Oxford students, not enough substance, only "wisdoms" like "But mirrors can be dangerous if we stay for too long too charmed by our own reflection".

> Architectural decisions were not questioned, as long as they aligned with the goal.

Yes, that's the main problem I'm having with agentic workflows. Sometimes you don't care about architecture of something if it just works, but more complex stuff can't work well without good architecture. And currently it seems that there is still no substitute for good human taste.

Exactly. It's the app that is being treated like a patient.

> public figures can be bullied and harassed

But he's not being bullied and being harassed. He's a public figure and he has fuck you money. If he doesn't like people making jokes about him, he can simply shut up, disappear from public space and live comfortable life without ever working again.

Search "punching down vs punching up in comedy" and you'll understand why it's not bullying.

> Steam for some reason

Currently probably because of Valve's work on Proton, and before because Steam just worked and didn't seem to exploit players.

From my experience every (senior) developer with enough tokens always finds useful stuff to do. Some variation of Jevons paradox.

Yes, I had really cheap Windows Phone, and prior to Windows 10 Mobile, Windows were super fast and the phone was really fun to use. After Win 10 release, it become unusable - slow, rendering issues, etc.
