You're forgetting dioxins and other pollutants resulting from burning various materials, especially plastic.

I have a T14s with AMD Ryzen 7 and everything works on linux apart the fingerprint reader.

Battery life is very good and you have great linux support (including battery charge customization and other options with TLP) It's light, you have a good choice of ports (USB A, VGA, USB C) I think it's still a safe choice especially in the AMD variant wrt the other linux laptops.

I think that wine connoisseurs can distinguish between a 2$ wine and a 20$ or more wine. The problem lays in rating two wines in the same price range, in that case preferences become personal tastes because differences are very difficult to assess. When you drink very cheap wine the defects are quite easy to perceive.

How does it compare with the rohloff system?

Anyways it seems to be significantly more expensive thus I don't think it will become widespread.

Some years ago I was working on an embedded platform with two processors connected via ethernet, one handling data and most of the application load, the second one handling some automotive buses (CANbus and ARCnet). I wrote a kernel driver to expose raw data coming from the ARCnet to userspace applications in the most transparent way. So I labeled data coming from the second cpu with an unused ethertype, I changed the ethernet driver to inspect the ether type of the incoming data and send it up inside the network stack as if it was received from a certain fake ARCnet device. The fake ARCnet device was a dummy module that allowed userspace to receive that data via normal sockets. Probably it could be done in a better way but it was quite simple and it worked well.

If you ride a motorcycle even following the speed limit and you fall, even if you don't hit any vehicle you are risking: - hitting the ground (front or back) so having a concussion or smashing all your teeth - hitting sidewalks or guard rails Moreover the helmet lowers the noise given by air flowing, helps you see better at sunrise/sunset, protects you from insects. I think there's no good reason to avoid wearing an helmet while riding a motorcycle.

Maybe you don't want / you do not have the chance to have sources and build tools installed on your production server and you trust mtier to build the patched sources for you. I find it very useful.

I think he could be supported by EFF since they have released a press release.

I think you should indicate that this is a off-topic discussion from 2004 debian user mailing list somewhere in the link title.

These cars just look like some kind of Formula cars but there are some of important differences: - first for now all cars are more or less the same (there's no research competition behind motors or aerodynamics like in WEC or F1) - the race rules are not so meaningful to me: changing cars in the middle of the race doesn't add to the fun, why not doing 2 shorter races? I see it as a minor low budget futurist racing series to exploit the "electric motors" trend in automotive.

Real investments go to WEC for technology or to F1 for PR and brand strength.

Things might change when teams will have the chance to customize their cars more (mainly motor, batteries)

Edit: they race in very nice locations anyway, that's the only cool thing about the series :p
