But at the end of the day, it was like Liquid Glass itself - looks sick in presentations, but in real life, it looks pretty awful.
This is not and will probably never be practical, but it's something that's never really been done before, and for that alone I kinda like it.
I am very glad to see people with opinions that flow into what they do, but the question becomes: are you trying to make the best software, or make the most idealistic software? There's a big difference.
I am not at all advocating the use of straight AI slop, but with a policy like that you're opening yourself up for missed bugs, security issues, delayed features, and other things. Especially if you move away from software just because an AI wrote one line of code in it. You can still review the code. If it does the thing right, then use it!
Of course, the quality of this is nowhere near good enough, but in theory :)
edit: speaking mostly about macOS here, mobile OSes are much more locked down

Otherwise, a very neat demo. As others have said, the UI is VERY confusing, way too much stuff going on.
When I click the death ray, it freezes Opera completely, and pins my 40 core GPU at 100% indefinitely.
However, contrary to what should happen, macOS continues merrily along. It lags a bit and some UI elements don't appear instantly, but I can summon the force quit menu and simply kill Opera, at which point the OS returns to normal.
However, there *is* _something_ confused, as my GPU is sitting at 6W and full boost, yet with no active processes. Seems to suggest that something is orphaned yet still running. I am now going to log out and back in to see if I can fix it without rebooting.
EDIT: fixed the 100% use, but not the power draw, by putting it to sleep and waking it back up. Interesting!

BASIC is over 40 years older than me, and I have never played with it, thus my question :-)
I use Apple's top-notch editing for all sorts of stuff - RAW images, videos, basic enhancements, etc. When I tested, Immich didn't have very good, if any, editing features.
I also love Apple's search functions, and it Just Works™. I'm sure Immich has similar, but I know it would take a lot of processing to make it happen.
I also did not really care for Immich's UI, it felt overly basic and Material Design to me, but that is only personal preference.
Another gap is metadata. In Apple Photos I can tap the little "I" icon to see a lot of capture metadata, and in Immich I did not see an equivalent to how good Apple's one is.
