Also from the article:

> "Claude clearly made things worse" &emdash; the main claim

This article was clearly generated by AI, yet I found no mention/attribution of that by author.

How likely is it than someone who vibe codes articles would also vibe code the underlying analysis and be eager to accept an outcome that is highly validating of that person’s workflow? I’d say very.

I think its a commonly accepted opinion that a person's ability to admit when they don't know something is a strength. It would be interesting to a see how much a constraint for known validity impacts the ability of a model to synthesize responses. In other words, where do we draw the line between knowing and "thinking we know" something (i.e., do we draw the line at 95% confidence)? Surely we do not hold each other to a strict requirement of 100% confidence, but there must be some acceptable range.

In addition, I wonder what effect this sort of “manual desertification” has on the soil when done en masse.

One difference I've noticed is that R libraries are usually authored and maintained by academics in the associated field; the same can't always be said about equivalent Python libraries. This means that R library authors generally use their own libraries for publication and have an academic stake in its correctness.

Do you know of any open source mobile apps that are full vendor native for iOS and Android? I'd really like to peruse some examples of that.

I also log my debugging process, but usually I'm less verbose with the explanations and more verbose about the specific actions I'm taking. For example, instead of a note saying "starting a debugging session to find out the issue with the sign-up during a load test" I'll provide the full command I used. Why? So that the process is reproducible in the event that I need to walk back a few steps or hand off the debugging to another team. I'll also include environment information such as my current machine, PATH, and commit hash.

LA Fitness allows you to either mail in the cancellation form or submit it in person. I was also cancelling due to a move, so I printed out the form and trekked out to the nearest location for a final workout and the piece of mind that my cancellation was complete.

Lo and behold, you cannot submit your cancellation form without a Manager present. Okay, when does the Manager arrive? _Usually_ around 9:00AM is the response I got. I have to get home for a meeting at 8:30AM, so is there a mailbox I can drop this in? No. Can I leave it with you (the staff member attending the front desk) to hand to the Manager? No. Will the Manager be here around 5:00PM if I come back after work? No.

Please note that I bear no ill will towards the pleasant staff member that was helping me.

Out of curiosity, why do you think "libre" is a terrible moniker?

After reading that, I have a new appreciation for the page’s opening sentence: “Jaffa Cakes are biscuit-sized cakes …”

With no intent to be pedantic: wouldn't benchmarked or profiled, instead of performance tested, be a more accurate description of the performance evaluation performed by the author?

I think he is joking. I hope he is joking.
