Look. I just want an email provider that pays enough dues to the smtp mafia so my personal correspondence doesn't hit spam or bounce. Why. Why can't just email be straightforward and transactional.

There are, unfortunately, a lot of listings on airbnb/vrbo/etc. that just shouldn't be. Not because the listings are bad, but because the people are looking to make a buck with the least amount of effort or care as possible. Technologies like this arise when there are too many of that category in a market.

Isn't it telling that if your immediate thought is to subvert said LAW? That doesn't seem to be serving the people then does it, but the state. The state is supposed to serve its people

Worse though, is that the definition of border is hella loose. CBP can be many MANY miles away from an actual border and do this.

Title is misleading. The device is xcenas, but they did a joint presentation with Samsung looks like.

I thought DMR and Venice were supporting memory encryption by default. With the keys living on the CPU side and no standards for key sharing, I wonder how this will gain traction.

I recently had an account banned for 'bot' activity that I use for work. The Open Compute Project uses google docs and drive EXCLUSIVELY for all of their work, and this email address is tied to it. I don't have a gmail account, this account was created using my work office365 account.

This weekend my account was suspended for 'suspected bot activity' and that I was welcome to file an appeal that would be reviewed over the course of 2 days to determine if I should be turned back on or not, and that I could get my account data via takeout.

So I did the take out thing, which broke 98kb into THREE zip files due to 'size concerns' lmao

All activity was null save one YouTube channel subscription that I made accidentally because I needed to use the YouTube app to TFA my account at some point and hadn't logged out. That was the only piece of data for this account, was this seriously the thing that triggered the autoban?

about five minutes after submitting my paragraph and a half of appeal I get a generic 'fuck you goodbye' with no further recourse, no human, no longer appeal process where a human eventually gets around to things, just...get your data and get out.

At this point I'm wondering if a human every even clicked a confirm button much less looked at anything in this workflow. Now I'm stuck, there are a ton of files and docs I don't have access to that I was actively working on that I now have to what, link to a personal account?

This is fucking insane. If this surfaces at all on HN and someone at google sees it please help. Shit like this is why people are fleeing your products.

Sincerely, ScreamingIntoTheVoid

Go read about things like rent maximizer from yardi then come back. Another reason people can't afford to buy housing is because companies like these enable apartment complexes to collude on pricing under the guise of software. Rent is higher than a mortgage payment in some places, and folks can't afford to pack any savings away. So they rent until they fall behind, then they rent something less ideal, then they leave the area or live out of their car. Either way it's garbage. The only reason I could afford my home is because I managed to find a private renter who was charging significantly below market rate for years so that I could build a down payment, and I managed to buy at the right time. Two years after closing the 'value' of my home jumped 60% and I would have been priced out, it's all just bullshit.

Maybe instead of going around our elbow to get to our asshole we should just call a spade a spade and make rent 'optimization' illegal. Then once people can actually afford a home we'll have a better picture of how many should be built. Because ultimately? People just want to be able to live without the stress of bills and the looming worry of maintaining a roof over their heads.

When you start caring for others more than yourself in ways that are personally expensive, then you're an adult. Personally expensive changes as you do.
