what is sex referring to in this context? is this talking about societal attitudes toward sex, sex as in gender, or something else?

this is an interesting interpretation. i always imagined the jihad as being a violent struggle.

the other jihad in the first novel is that of the Fremen, which is described as being unspeakable violent, so I find it hard to imagine these to be different in that regard.

i’m not sure how to distinguish any difference from modern reality from what you seem to consider plot-armour to be.

what does the Butlerian Jihad “working” mean?
