Ok, now I want the fiction books about cults, scams and schemes.

As far as conspiracies goes, this one pretty much borders on open secret.

> In his first term, Schröder's government decided to phase out nuclear power, fund renewable energies

> Since leaving public office, Schröder has worked for Russian state-owned energy companies, including Nord Stream AG, Rosneft, and Gazprom.

Gerhard Schröder has not worked for russian nuclear reactor companies for a reason.

> Okay, you also get some obscure information like whether there were an even or odd number of 1 bits in the bottom 8 bits of result, but that’s hardly useful nowadays.

I'm honestly curious, was it ever useful, or is it just an expression?

I'm a non native english speaker trying to read this book, sort of gave it up around (i think) half to read other books in the waiting list. Most of the interludes are not that engaging to me (whale classification chapter comes to mind), which is a pity since I enjoyed the actual narrative.

> If

Is it not?

> certainly not unique to PHP

Doesn't stop it from being an issue in my book, one that prevents updating to newer versions of the interpreter without breaking production.

So the issue is not breaking backwards compability in the "standard library" between versions?

Sacrificing material for positional compensation is hardly a new concept

Probably more about the difference between "echo" and "std::cout << ... << std::endl;" than the recursive function call.

Reminds me of that robocop scene "You call this a glitch???"

> They made very annoying, aggressive plays that were difficult to counter, not taught anywhere in professional videos, forums or training sites

Mind sharing more on these strategies? I'm curious about what sort of strategy a poker pro would find so unique as to not recognize it from anywhere

That one is an urban myth of sorts i believe

I've been doing some spare chess programming on a GUI myself (non-intensive on-off work for 1 year so far) and I decided to stay with the naive method (12 bits, straightforward src and dest squares) for compressing moves. It's obviously easier and faster to implement, I'm not hostage for some wacky bugs I could have done, and it's straightforward to parse and to format to long algebraic form (e2e4), which is the format UCI likes to receive (stockfish, for instance) and to store to a file.

Having said that, I might take a look into this 8 bit format :)
