I install Karabiner [0] first thing on a new macOS.

It lets you map this key to fix this issue and allows many more mappings.

I wonder why there is no LLM that can decode this. Tried many times but it seems the models don’t pick up the nuances.

GitUp is an open source altetnative. Probably less feature rich than SM but powerful enough to be efficient.
