Blueferry is a project that lets you connect to your iPhone over BT and send/receive iMessages. There's no iPhone app to install, no bluebubbles-esque proxy to a Mac, and no iCloud login - it just uses normal supported Bluetooth communication to your phone.

100%. You have to advertise that you're a car, basically, before the iphone opens the door to messages.

Hey! I made blueferry - the bluetooth connection works great on certain adapters, but ANCS is the wild west. I love that Tether is helping to figure out all the quirks there - I had lots of time a month ago and almost none now.

We're now using this for production metrics at Square - thanks to the builtin Graphite support - and it's changed everything about how we can visualize them. This is faster, more intuitive, and more beautiful than anything that rrdtool graph or Graphite's grapher can kick out. Absolutely recommended to anybody who needs to have realtime visual feedback about system performance.
