The first project like this (of using AI to port old software from assembly) was interesting and novel. But every subsequent post has me wondering what new insight or lessons we have learned and if doing more of these is worth the energy burn.

Not quite 100%, the article gives Faraday cage as an expensive countermeasure: "We analyzed and measured the effect of the Faraday chassis on the RAMBO covert channel using copper foil. This has electric field high Shielding properties (above 100 dB) and magnetic fields. The copper standard width is 1 mm effectively blocks the EMR from the transmitting workstation. However, as noted in the following section, this solution is costly and can not be deployed widely."

I think because the computer mouse is typically on the right side of the keyboard (because most people are right-handed), WASD has the advantage of allowing your mouse to be controlled by your right hand and you can keep your left hand in the normal position it is used for typing and not have to have your left hand move all the way to the arrow keys to control directions.

Most people can't afford to have multiple really good computers. More likely you have a phone plus a single desktop or laptop. You would want to share your expensive GPU+memory on the same computer you use for gaming graphics and for AI-models for development.

"flex" indeed. Author's "writing studio" is complete with training weights to flex during breaks between writing.

Please let's not clutter up wikipedia with new articles for every entity in the universe. It would be too much for humans to review. Though it sure would be funny to see an AI-peida as you describe.

"Tough on crime" is often a euphemism for "lock the innocent".

Yeah. And with enough energy to burn, anything can be emulated.

Sure, there are a lot of things like this you can do. It would eat up a minute of your time and cost a premium to buy a tiny packet of an individually-wrapped biscoff. Or you could spend ~$36 to buy a box of 300 biscoffs that occupy a space in your cupboard, and then every time you fly, you take one out of the box and put it in your carry-on, and resist the temptation to eat it unless you are 10km high.

On the train jumping demo, I'm noticing a lag after pressing space bar before I see my character jump. I remember even with the 8-bit Nintendo, the controller would be polled and my sprite immediately updated every 60Hz screen draw cycle. Despite all the new technology, that simple thing doesn't happen here.

I just went down a quick rabbit hole and discovered the vector-based gamed machine Vectrex which in 1983, well before the 1995 Virtual Boy, had a "3-D Imager" head-mounted stereoscopic display. I wonder if that gets the claim for the first "real 3d" video game.

That worry is just as much or more with closed-source models.

Hey, Mario 64 isn't "real 3d". It is just a projection of 3d coordinates to 2d triangles on a 2d screen.
