Brazilian here. It was unprecedented but not unreasonable, given problems with availability of public transportation in a number of locations. Both sides asked for extensions, although in different places that would favour their own bases. A nationwide extension was the best option, even if it was semi-botched due to the time it was decided. Also, the vote difference between Lula and Bolsonaro was much larger than any additional voting would have delivered.

Contrarian view here but honestly I can't imagine not cleaning up after yourself by default. Of course I am not saying that I do a deep clean at every place I stay but if I'm staying in an AirBNB the very least I do is to leave the place in a civilised way. For example, if I use kitchen utensils I either clean them or put in the dishwasher when available. I seriously never understood people that just leave completely dirty things behind, especially when they are travelling with their kids.

Visited Atlanta last July. First time in Waymos. Now I can’t wait for this to become a reality in Brasília too, where I live.

Brazilian me thought it was an homage to Pelé. I’m glad the text explains the name.

Yes, and I think the haptics of walking into that castle hall to explore the different tasks drove it home so well that it was a new experience!

Beautiful. An interesting tidbit some here may like: for some birds, their songs carry over genetically. As a result, there are no dialects in the same sense as described in this page. The most famous example (at least in the Americas) is Pitangus sulphuratus (known in Brazil as "bem-te-vi"). This bird is present from Southern US until Southern Argentina, and has virtually the same song all over. In fact, I know I arrived in Brazil when I get out of the airport, anyone in the country, and catch a (sometimes clear, sometimes faint) "bem-te-vi, bem-te-vi" song.

Wow, love this! Could even match with a language I am actively learning so it helps that as well!

I would even suspect Carney would want to eventually be the head of the EU (he also has European citizenship)

Still, it’s a very good approximation but still an approximation to the more ergonomic and expressive tidyverse syntax

I am a big fan of the Duck team since before their v1.0 and I am happy for them personally for the big payoff, both in monetary terms but also in terms of scale and longer-term viability of their baby. I am also happy to see the arrangement will keep the core OSS. Let's see what the future holds now!

Now a question daunted on me. Assuming away strategies like store-and-decrypt-later-in-a-quantum-future, could a MITM really eavesdrop, as in, aren’t such ARPA-routed phone calls encrypted?
