I realize I am an extreme outlier, but I have not yet once used AI in my software development job.

This made me smile way more than it should. Thanks.

Absolutely. And while we're at it, let's do away with social media.

They did, but the rights expired. GKIDS now has the theatrical and home video rights to Studio Ghibli films in the US (except for Grave of the Fireflies).

I had written a comment addressing this as well but you beat me to it. In a way it is similar to the effect StackOverflow had on popular libraries, but amplified. Even without StackOverflow, a library can do well if it has good documentation. I'm not sure if the same holds true with LLMs.

While I do enjoy some popular genres, I'm all too aware of the massive industry behind it all. I believe that most of humanity's greatest works of art were created not for commercial interests but rather for the pure joy of creation, of human expression. This can be found in any genre if you look hard enough, but it's no accident that the music I find the most rewarding is classical music: Intellect, emotion, spirit, and narrative dreamed into existence by one person and then brought to life by other artists so we can share in its beauty.

I think music brings about a connection between the composers, lyricists, performers, and listeners. Music lets us participate in something uniquely human. Replacing any of the human participants with AI greatly diminishes or eliminates its value in my eyes.

I don't think I would ever sign a non-compete. If a business is afraid of competition, it should seek to differentiate itself so it can stand out from the crowd. Non-competes harm employees and prevent healthy competition.

This describes me as well. With the exception of J-pop/anime music, almost all the music I listen to is classical or soundtracks. I connect deeply with the instrumentation, melodies, harmonies, and rhythms far more than the lyrics, which is why I don't especially enjoy rap and am terrible at karaoke.

Go already supports an indirection layer, commonly known as vanity URLs. It works by making a request to a domain owned by the project and parsing a meta tag in the response that points to the actual repository location. Of course, the problem is that few projects bother to set this up.

That's a nifty option! In (neo)vim, I like to use the ZZ keybinding to quickly save if modified and then quit. If I want to abort the commit, I'll type ZQ to discard changes and quit.
