It's pretty cool. But if it's such a small model and small corpus, isn't it almost just as good just to have a static wikipedia-style copy of those key sources (WikiMed, MedlinePlus, Ready.gov, CDC etc.)? Maybe if they (and that could be static too), gave you a "what's going on?" question and then told you what you might not know - i.e. "power is out" -> "make sure you open your fridge as little as possible", "if you have backup battery ensure you turn power hungry devices off" etc.?

I bet it's configurable and just a matter of how much resource you want to allocate. If it's truly a world model then it seems to me that it's precise benefit is that it can keep track and order in things and they just choose to accept some noise/chaos/randomness/? for the demos when things move out frame? Does that sound sensible? I'm just guessing but don't feel it's a hard limit.

I’m always wondering what kind of constant noise might damage someone’s hearing (maybe develop tinnitus or long term hearing loss etc)? Is it only the volume or also duration and frequencies etc? Is there a risk having a noisy air purifier on all night?

I love cloudflare, seriously. Not sure what it is about the brand, but their products feel delightful, they feel like an honest business, they have great free tiers, their tech is “cool” and they seem to innovate a lot (I.e the recent AI blocking program etc). Just moved all my domains over from Whois.com (who on the other hand seem sneaky, don’t have auto renewals and slam you with an 80$ restoration fine for domains you forget to renew, and charge extra for basic security that should be free). Couldn’t be happier and wish cloudflare all the best!!

Do you get a 3rd opinion and go with the consensus? Genuinely curious what people think.

With crypto.. that it makes on Polymarket-like ways, or creates its own content? Or blackmail humans? :-) I'm not entirely serious with my comment and do agree with you that there are lots of more immediate safety topics we should address before worrying about the AI becoming self-aware. That said, finding ways of accumulating valuable resources could be intermediate activities the AIs will attempt to do to complete it's 'goals' even when they're human-set!

It seems to me like hackers, innovators and entrepreneurs are generally more open minded

This seems super cool. What’s sobering to remember though is that it was invented 20 years ago and only just got FDA approval earlier this year
