Imo, it tells you how many footguns there are in regards to performance in React.

Maybe I'm missing something, but two thoughts:

1. Doesn't the overcommit feature lessen the benefits of this? Your initial allocation works but you can still run out of memory at runtime.

2. For a KV store, you'd still be at risk of application level use-after-free bugs since you need to keep track of what of your statically allocated memory is in use or not?

This made me curious. Like selling cheats for games?

Perhaps I'm spoiled from working mostly with React Native nowadays and have forgotten the pain :)

Having experience with both platforms I'd say it's not comparable. J2ME was much worse in this regard.

Yeah, I didn't mean to discourage. It's a cool project and making your own stuff is fun :)

I experimented with something related, but instead of fixing subtitles i focused on filtering out bad ones. My approach was:

* Extract a few sentences from the middle of the subtitle file.

* Extract the audio for those sentences from the video file

* Run speech-to-text and verify that at least a few of the words were the same.

It kind of worked on some shows, but not reliably..

In what way does it offer better results?

There's an official android app for libre too, i'm not sure if it's available everywhere though.

Chromecast for example does not support SNI, which is crazy.

> I am reminded of stories of kids opening a command prompt and being accussed of "hacking", only this is a far more extreme case.

I remember a teacher seeing me type "BitchX" into a terminal and freaking out, he apparently thought I was doing something obscene in my terminal window..
