If you love HP-RPN calculators, you may love Forth as well. Forth is a very interesting language, I find it a bit too complex for my little brain but give it a spin if, you have 2 free hours

I'm a super fan of docker and I also want to say thanks for designing it.

I think docker is not weird, it is very linear.

Docker has the merit to take a bunch of tools and to create an organized view of it.

I want to point you to Misterio https://github.com/daitangio/misterio which is a very thin layer on top of docker compose.

It simplify my homelab and works like a charm, and it is a waaaaay easier to use than k8s.

Thank you again, and let me know if you plan a trip in Milan :) for a meeting

Can you provide a link to Hermes/a short insight on your setup? It is quite interesting (I like minimal setup)

I prefer https://github.com/Fission-AI/OpenSpec because it works also on brown-field. If you want an unbias-demo, take a look also at

branch demo/nello-openspec

yes and no. AI is great for patter-maching and finding solution by "assonance".

I agree with you that these are not "trilling" discovery but they can be worth something anyway.

Like you, I do not like this news also because I think they will be used to just "push" the next two IPOs (Anthropic, OpenAI).

I agree, also the problem is the substrate is still in beta. So this is a beta on another beta: it seems not fully mature.

I'd prefer a K8s Operator or plugin (like Istio) to get all the pack.

And I add, when to say no to customers, from a consultant perspective.

When you are flooded by requests, predicting the right priorities and managing the Gantt is crucial.

Customer satisfaction is your priority as consultant, but wisdom is even more valuable, if you can apply it.

We need to be prepared to write less software, with a smaller attack surface. Less is more.

Bloated code is the critical problem. Once upon a time, I read C function

> char gets(char str);

is the first buffer overflow entry point, because it does not check the size of the destination buffer.

Sadly we cannot remove it from standard-C yet AFAI Know.

The success of Rust versus other languages is its secure-by-compile-time promise.

Also a lean java could help, but Java is so verbose/slow to start it bumps you away.

I am in my 10 years cycle in which I will go back to emacs. Emacs is so powerful but has a different terminology, and vscode was so easy and snappy...so I got accustomed to VSCode, but it is becoming slower and it has a lot of telemetry attached to it.

Is it time to give emacs another try

Openspec has a subcommand (init) to manage them: clever because they provide also an update path.

Some thoughts that are added to what was written already by Antirez in the last month.

My two cents, but with real experience.
