It's nice they recently added acclaimed open models at a fair price like DeepSeek and GLM Flash, that way it's less of a gamble to try this new model out.

Yes. I have my dock/taskbar on the side and to switch between apps it's like having a small touchbar I actually know the functions of at any time. When I want to scroll too or tap quickly on something on the other side of the screen, it's often more worth to lift my fingers away from the keyboard to touch the screen without even moving the pointer. But if you're not used to it you probably don't see the burden of moving your pointer away to then bring it back to the center of the screen.

Another possible use is when I want to show some page or content to someone, I always prefer manipulating it with my fingers, instead of "remotely" control it from the trackpad and a mouse.

And if it has stylus support it's cool for drawing (like my current laptop) but Macs do not have a hinge suited for that I think (no 360° support and their focus on a "weak hinge" for the weird and useless obsession from tech content creators of being able to lift the hinge with one finger, something I actually not really value because I sometimes wish that the hinge was stronger and sometimes weaker).

Finally there are also multitouch apps like the piano shown on the presentation and iPad apps I guess, but on macOS I think this matters less (Mac apps are not made with this in mind at all, iPad apps are limited).

The thing is that Reddit on mobile pushes automated translations so hard that a lot of people are mislead into forgetting about the actual language of the subreddit. I think that's the main reason why a lot of people are posting in their own language on Reddit nowadays.

It's part of a bigger push against individual liberties in France.

In a week, we got curfew, military in the streets to control protests, blanket ban on protests in a few cities (but not uniformly applied, illegal far-right protests have been tolerated at night during curfew), an extremely violent police repression (protest control policemen in France have very violent weapons, and those resulted in lost eyes and shredded hands // and that's not counting all of the unjustified beatings in the protest while looting was happening under their eyes elsewhere), the prime minister outright lying on the fatalities, spoke person laughing at the idea of condemning violence from the police, mass arrests, proposals from the party in power to ban social media, to ban the big left party (the second one in terms of voting intentions rn), to tag people in the protests invisibly, to disenfranchise people that will get condemned for anything in those protests… and by the way completely ignoring their responsibilities in anything in this story, blaming a party that never has been in power for all the economic problems in this country.

Next years are going to be fun :)

Even as someone happy of seeing Mistral still trying to compete, I would wait at least for the final release and weights before talking again about it, to have a definitive opinion on it.

Google also does that surprisingly

I mean their latest model is gated behind API pricing that's more than enough to prevent any pupil from using it. I did not try ML4 (I'll wait till the end of the preview at least) so I can't tell anything about its performance outside of benchmarks, but on paper it's basically at the level of Muse Spark Open and I've not seen nearly as many people spitting on that model.

Thank you for your answer

Why is there no comparison with FLUX 3 Image? I am not a big user of image models so maybe those are in different categories (or maybe it's not a relevant frontier model?). Just curious.

There are actually desktop SLA printers with 1~10µm of accuracy, but as you said the website does not show a buy button, just a Request quote button.
