Is there a way to monetize other than by subscription? $1/y is both too little (for the operator) and too much (for the user) at the same time.

They will just rename/reform themselves. And there are other channels for spying on people.

This brings up the question: is there a good, realistic guide for a normal person on how to prevent being spied on?

Lockdowns (and masks?) have shown that the spread of COVID and the 'flu can be slowed down. If governments can implement lockdowns and not cause too much harm to the population, I reckon we can beat these diseases.

Exposing incompetence and recklessness in government departments and large corporates, or even just any ol' trashy outfit that collects personal data, will make them very angry at being made to look incompetent and reckless.

I came across one in a Mission Beach forest far north Queensland in the early 2000's. I ducked behind the nearest tree. When it came to check me out, I just moved around the tree and kept doing that as it persisted to check me out. It didn't appear pissed off. It was just curious I think. After doing this for about 5 minutes it walked off.

If you have good, progressive ideas and have time and energy, run for parliament. If Hanson, Katter, Christensen and all the other useless junk can get in, you have a chance. We do need a real progressive alternative in politics. Greens are good, but we need more.

Can you describe the type of employer that does this? Is it a cultural thing like it is in Dubai? Very curious that this seems to happen in Singapore regularly.
