Hey HN!
I couldn’t find a chat framework that I liked so I built my own.
I'm still building it, and it's completely free. You can run it on your own app, with your own database, auth etc.

Yepyep - but my question is: what's the spiel? What do these companies get "in exchange for" becoming open-source? What's the incentive?
