There's more than one kind of project manager.

The "I just manage the Gantt chart" folks are screwed, I think.

The ones that are good at translating between teams can be a huge force multiplier.

I found this bit a little fascinating.

> The venture capitalist Conway spelled it out in a podcast in March: “Our job is to get Gavin to negotiate this so that it doesn’t get to the ballot. So maybe they don’t get the signatures.”

> When the SEIU-UHW used mostly volunteers to amass their signatures, the opposition campaign reportedly attempted another plan – purchase the firm the union used for signature-collection, so that those signatures couldn’t be used, according to Regan. The same idea was floated in the Signal chat, according to the San Francisco Standard, with one participant reportedly messaging: “That’s what you would do in business: If there’s an impediment, just buy it.”

> Fred Kimball is the president of the signature-gathering firm Kimball Petition Management, which worked with the SEIU-UHW and pioneered this type of business. He said that not only did his company endure denial-of-service cyberattacks, which stalled their signature validation process, but he received two calls from unnamed individuals inquiring about a sale.

This seems like tech news? ICE is hiring consultants to seize domains critical of them?

Is that an impossibility? Is WWII's good/bad guy split genuine?

Nobody's perfect, sure. But can one side be significantly better than the other in politics at times?

Let's reframe that; it's very useful for maintaining continuity of care in medicine!

> hey you know how the DoD has never passed an audit

It's the largest organization on the planet, with large rival and highly independent sub-organizations, some of its assets get blown up regularly, and some of those assets are highly classified. Congress is never going to give them the resources to do the largest accounting project in the history of the planet, either.

AI would either tell you it's an intractable problem, or make shit up.

That's a very long writeup to say "the computer did what I asked it to do".

I think SO really needed a "vote to unaccept / mark outdated this answer" or proper supercession process.
