Building secure software isn't fundamentally complicated for the most part, it just takes rigor that most "fast moving" companies refuse to complete.

The lawyers and finance folks I know are all using Claude. I don’t think it’s as limited to coding right now as you’re thinking

Yup. Virtually all software is underspecified before being written.

Space shuttle code might be the one exception.

Seems pretty earned in a lot of ways

Their new game, Dragonwilds, has been very successful. Jagex leadership today is not the same as Jagex leadership 10 years ago.

If anything, they're one of the first companies proving that getting away from gatcha/pay-to-win/pay-for-aesthetic/seasonal mechanics can be a good business decision in 2026, where there are many, many gamers who care about earned power (and earned aesthetic) and no longer want to be on a seasonal loot/rating treadmill.

For me, that's personal and I'm happy about it. I've played MMORPGs my whole life, really the only genre I'm interested in. Everquest, EQ2, GW, WoW (and many xpacs), OSRS, etc. Other than OSRS more recently, I've felt left behind for many, many years now. I want to play games where the journey is the point, and where earning what you have is fundamental.

WoW Forever, which in terms of player numbers is looking to be Blizzard's most successful move in over a decade, is coming largely due to the trail blazed by OSRS and the Jagex team.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't legal regulations around monopolistic behavior kind of mandate that?

I think it's context dependent. An entire technical design doc? Trivially easy to identify the ones that heavily used AI, they're horrible, and they are written in a way that no human would write them. And they tend to contain way too many tables and redundancies.

Comment text on reddit or something though? That will be a lot harder

I don't think any of those are readable without the context of your message.

Yeah - spell checking has been on device for literal decades.

The copyright issue is an important one. Under the current law, you don’t own copyright on the output of GenAI.

They also often include external square footage like balconies which warp it.

What's the range on bluetooth? If I can reach someone via bluetooth, can't I also just talk to them? Or is it longer than I realize?

Pretty common to find at $300 on sale or whatnot.

People love it.
