Exactly this, it’s something that keeps being thrown around for new project ideas in cultural heritage for decades. And there is a metric ton of prior art. But there is no clear value proposition, and if for some reason someone pushes it through it sits unused for a few months or years and gets sunset after someone forgets it exists.

Great tech demo. These projects need demand and drive from the public, and there isn’t any. It’s also missing the deeper motivations of why people visit museums and cultural institutions.

I don't think I've seen that many similar top level comments as there are under helle253's thread. Is it just me or something is off?

Meta has a worse track record and major baggage from their main product. Its a super different surface area for what their incentives are.

"But then I have to remind myself that I don’t sound like AI, it sounds like me. I’ve been em-dashing and comma-splicing up a motherfucking storm these past two decades. It was fun then, and it’s fun now."

From the source.

One of the biggest gains of having dedicated hardware is that the computation doesn’t happen on the general hardware.

This is what makes it viable on mobile devices where system responsiveness and power efficiency are high priority.

Generally these hardware decoders haven’t been retoolalble.

I wish I had a chance to open source. So much of it was done in mad hacking sessions to glue things that were never supposed to work together. Or contain all the secret sauce for one work or another. Maybe the next one!

Thank you! I’ve managed to shoehorn Clojure into everything from 3D model generation to VR networking servers for installations :D It makes so many things easier to reason about!

I’ve been using Clojure since 2013, and can say that it has been an enormous positive force in my life. I’ve been a very unorthodox user, most of my artworks were built using Clojure in some way. But I’ve also worked in industry, and there I think Clojure helped me avoid burnout on more than one occasion. Especially when running a startup built half on it :)

It’s also been a privilege to participate in the community. From Clojure west to the Conj, to the online discussions. Huge thanks to everyone that’s made this possible over the decades.

If we can set a legal precedent then this can cascade into policy, or an enforceable standard much faster.

Super worth a watch. Lots of technical tidbits also.

I am so glad that this has been made! And happy that it features so many familiar faces from the last two decades of Clojure. There is a lot more to a programming language than just the code committed.

> The cost to serve tokens is absolutely profitable today and that’s been true for at least a year.

> For the data center build outs, demand for tokens is still exceeding supply.

Can you provide any numbers for this?

I've seen most! Highlighting this one out of them all. Exemplary! : D
