I have seen the same Ai hallucinations that you mentioned: auth, input validation, error handling, non-existent dependencies, etc. It's tricky to get them all as LLM's have mastered the art of being "confidently wrong". What tools are you using to catch those issues? I feel current tooling is ill equiped for this new wave of Ai generated output.

Would be nice to buy some tokens and use them around the marketplace. Something similar to how OpenAI has. Different API's might use more tokens depending on complexity

Good idea! It would all boil down to how many API's you can bring on the platform. I would see myself paying money for this. I too, had the same problem with RapidApi where I wanted a mix of APi's to hack something together. As the numbers of indie hackers continue to increase I don't see why something like this won't make it big. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the great info! By any chance, does the CTO need to be part of a company that you worked/still work for?

Thank you! We are actually considering Edinburgh as we visited two years and just loved it.

It's unbelievable how many people have jumped in and tried to encourage me. Thank you! Will get in touch if that's ok

I had visited Edinburgh 2 years ago and we just loved it. However, we postponed our move because of Covid but now we are ready to take the plunge. I too, agree that central Europe is great from a lot of aspects but the language barrier is kind of a deal breaker. I reckon I couldn't get to speak fluent German or Dutch in like...never

I subscribed to this weekly newsletter for the past three months https://www.softwareideas.io/

Every week, he finds VC-backed or profitable, upmarket companies that bootstrappers can compete with.

It addresses your question of what to build by looking at big players in different industries and coming up with downmarket opportunities.

On my last remote job hunt I have tried to find a job through the listings on different remote-first job boards but as many have already pointed out the number of applications is just too high and you might be turned down because you are asking for too much money compared to other devs.

Here's what I did instead -> Go on Linkedin, hit the search, filter to "Content" and use phrases like: "Looking for software developer", "Looking for your domain of expertise person", you get the idea. You will be able to find a dozen of fresh listings every other day from recruiters, hiring managers or even CTO's. The goal is to get to the job offer before it gets posted.

The technique worked very well for me as I've approached a hiring manager this way and got a job offer days later.

The limitation to this is the size of your Linkedin network since it searches just up to the 3rd degree connection deep.

A good alternative is Twitter where you could use the same approach but I haven't tried it much myself.

Best of luck!

I found out that developing trust with other people is much harder remotely

Why would I, there are tons already out there. The thing that frustrates me the most is that they all have more or less job offers from the same companies..
