I have a different sentiment than most of what is shared here. I do enjoy coding. I do enjoy solving problems, but I feel like most of the work in my corporate/startup job life always have quite a significant amount repetitive and boring work (e.g. updating library for security reason, adding new CRUD endpoints, updating the app as per latest user study, etc). And so now I feel liberated because I can focus on problem solving instead of those tedious work. Given a problem, I can focus on thinking how to solve the problem instead of spending time coding up the solution. I don't blindly tell AI the problem and have it come up with a solution. Instead, I am particular in how I want problem to be solved, and then I will tell AI to implement it. And so in a way, now I have a 24/7 junior engineers that would get things done very quickly according to how I want the work to be done.

It's true that my ability to code would have atrophied, but I think it would happen anyway when one gets promoted and have to spend less and less time coding and more architecture or reviewing their juniors' work.

I still review the code created by AI very closely, so I don't feel like my ability to code degrades as much. Yeah, and when I feel like I have time, I would like to work on the code myself. Plus, if I want to, I can always code things by hand in my own personal project, for example.

There are many open source Ragnarok Online clients out there, such as Open Midgard, but most of them are not maintained nor usable enough to replace the original client. This however, is very promising. I think this is a very impressive project.

They argue that the Chinese models distill US models as one of the basis of the potential ban. I think it's quite ironic considering even the US models themselves are using data out there on the internet without asking for permissions and in many cases even infringing copyrights...

Yes please! It's very annoying how clicking an FB or Insta result from a Google search result would disallow going back to the search result!

Claude code has a version that runs on the cloud. You grant it access to Github then and you can tell it to make changes and create PR from your phone, tablet, or desktop. I'm curious, but what makes this difference than that?

> You either have a skill issue, or you are deliberately solving problems other than the thing you actually want to solve, which you do not mention.

Wow the first one is quite judgmental. FWIW, I'm the same way, I like writing some code, but definitely not all code. Writing CRUD boilerplate for a schema? No thank you, AI is more than welcome to take that.

I derive my joy from getting something done, making it actually usable by the business side, and ultimately have it to generate revenue.

Wow this is very easy to use. I've been using Github Co-Pilot for a while to do web dev, this is way way way more convenient :)

It's true that building an MVP is a lot easier than creating a polished product that would scale to tons of users. I would even say that the skill set needed for the two are significantly different. Somebody trained at quick prototyping of full stack app may not have the skills to scale it for thousands of concurrent users and vice versa. But isn't that the reason behind raising funds? If the product demand is proven, funds can be raised to polish and scale the product out.
