I treated my family’s copy of a copy of Spaceballs the same way. But Ghostbusters could easily have been my babysitter of choice if we’d owned it.

Narrowing the question to more recent times: The Death of Stalin because it made me laugh in the way Spaceballs used to.

Madeleine Clare Elish described AI as providing “moral crumple zones” (https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2757236) where it can serve as a buffer of plausible deniability to deflect blame when it behaves irresponsibly. For the corporation defects in the LLM are a feature.

The punctuated green site from yesteryear had a special moderation carve-out for funny comments distinct from the insightful contributors to keep things on track and interesting. But the parent poster dignifies neither and is better deserving of an Onion headline IMHO.

>> I've scrolled through the top ~10 or so comments

>> I'm not a lawyer and it's hard to parse the above.

>> Overall this seems like a weak comment to me.

A quarter century ago Leno and Letterman were asking people on the street who was buried in Grant’s Tomb. It’s not a trend.
