The assessment exists for a reason. There are other issues like runoff for example.

The assessment also concerns assessing for example runoff into rivers and neighbouring areas which include natural peatland. The culture in Finland respects the rule of law and people are often quite informed and detail oriented about matters of land management. The process exists for a reason and if people try to shortcut it the land should be forfitted although clearly there is so much money involved that it won't be. If they don't send a string message now, it errodes people's trust in the law and society which as said is very important in Finland. It keeps things working well.

For many the route to the airport includes the train from Tampere to Tikkurila where there is a change to suburban rail. These cities are on that line so it's not so odd. Okay it's a bit odd to name it after the airport but it was someone's airport journey I suppose.

The original designs had boarding at the back. Don't even have to stop people can just leap on.

Yes this is the reason. Transformations like quantisation preserve the rank of outcomes much better than probability mass.

There are different laws depending on your class. The laws are enforced by people who identify with those of their class and are deferential to those with of superior standing. This is why wage theft, for example is tolerated while actual theft, even in cases where it might be for basic sustenance, is not.

Deepseek on high reminds me of Opus 4.x which was quite good for a lot of tasks.

Infrastructure for cars is massively subsidised too. Since tansport is infrastructure it it interacts with everything else (eg less cars in the city => less spending on car infra) and has a lot of positive externalities. The investment pays back in positive outcomes which can also be quantified in terms of money of you like. It's like you've got a balance sheet but you're filtering it to only look at two items.

Exactly. I live in Finland bought an educational English grammar for kids book for my son 2nd hand from a private seller for 4 euros with 4 euros shipping from the UK. The final cost after all fees was was around 25 euros. It's not just for junk it's for everything. It's an Amazon subsidy (should have used amazon.de).

It's true you can. Just as you can say that you can enumerate all memory states in a real computer so it can be modelled as a finite state machine. These asymptotic models aren't real (our world as we experience it is finite and bounded) and exist as models from which to gain insights which we can transfer back. I love this argument BTW a classic that usually comes up in these discussions.

I thought it was relatively balanced. "It happened to work for me this time but it could have gone horribly wrong." That's the truth of psychedelics as a theraputic tool.
