I watched this film last night. It was very unique and not like anything I have seen before.

It's a pretty disorienting film, and I think that is part of the point. We're living in an age where presentation matters far more than substance.

Have you heard of the book Healing Back Pain by Sarno? I haven't personally experienced it, but people seem to swear by it. A pretty non-traditional approach to pain management.

Wow just a short reading of this wikipedia is fascinating. It reminds me of a thought I had years ago about what is lost with the introduction of abstracted currency (i.e. dollars). I assume this is an established concept, but when you barter with someone, besides the transaction, you learn about what that person needs. With abstracted currency, this information doesn't get transferred.

Anyway, seemed relevant to the wikipedia.

Seems reasonable. I'd like to hear your thinking on the automotive side. Is it the cost pressure at scale and durability requirements?

I work on autonomous submarines that image the seafloor, and let me tell you it is very hard to engineer deep ocean systems. Just operationally, testing things in rolling waves is a brutal job. Arguably at parity with space as an engineering design environment.

A great sci-fi book for this crowd that centers on this topic is "The Dispossessed" by Ursula K. LeGuin

You know what they mean though. Don't be so dense. This feed is not algorithmically built to maximize engagement, and it has no eye-catching and bait-facilitating photos. Meaningfully different.

With the amount of money behind them, I regret to say I don’t think they’ll get legislated away. My best guess is that social shaming slowly dwindles their usage. It’s actively shameful to scroll at dinner among Gen Z, for example. The problem becomes using the apps alone at home.

Wow how does Meta think anyone trusts their brand now? The lack of self-awareness is sorta funny honestly

Super neat concept. One super low-lift way to improve its reception: change the styling of the landing page to not be blatant AI slop.
