Or something like, "Draw an S, then a more different S, close it up real good here, then using consummate V's, add teeth, and scales, and eyebrows, and legs. And then add smoke, and fire, and some wings, and one of those big beefy arms for good measure." :D :D :D

Exactly the sort of thing I agree with. If there's code, ultimately, some human is responsible for it, regardless of whether they produced it by hand, by AI, or by rolling dice. (Not that anyone does produce code by rolling dice, mind! Or, if they do, I really don't want to see the results...)
All project contributions must be submitted by *identifiable human participants* who accept full responsibility for their content. Automated agents, bots, or autonomous AI systems *may not* independently submit issues, pull requests, or other contributions.
Contributors may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, but the submitting contributor *must:\*
- Fully understand the contribution.
- Be able to explain design and implementation decisions without the use of AI.
- Accept responsibility for maintenance and correctness.
Contributors should indicate AI-generated content in issue and pull request descriptions and comments, specifying which model was used.
Do *not* use AI to reply to questions about your issue or pull request. The questions are for *you,* the human, not an AI model.

I've been self-hosting Gitea for years, and moved everything I had on GitHub off at the time of the Micro$oft takeover.
With Amsterdam[0], I've put it back on GitHub, but only as a mirror to increase visibility of the code. My erbosoft.com Git server will always remain the "source of truth" for the project.

People were calling the film "a two-hour Daft Punk video" at one point. Which would be pretty cool, come to think of it.
I do think they were a pretty good choice to follow on from the original movie's electronic score by Wendy Carlos.

I feel like this should have had a warning like the one on the Epiphyte business plan in Cryptonomicon.
"EXTREMELY SERIOUS WARNING: Unless you are as smart as Johann Karl Friedrich Gauss, savvy as a half-blind Calcutta bootblack, tough as General William Tecumseh Sherman, rich as the Queen of England, emotionally resilient as a Red Sox fan, and as generally able to take care of yourself as the average nuclear missile submarine commander, you should never have been allowed near this document. I guess I was bucking the trend with https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47720333, which points to https://electricminds.org.
The UI of Electric Minds Reborn (Amsterdam Web Communities System) was not AI-generated. At most, it was AI translated, as I used Claude to help turn old clunky 2006-era HTML into modern styling with Tailwind CSS. See also https://erbosoft.com/blog/2026/04/07/to-ai-or-not-to-ai/.

Robert Heinlein proposed something like that in his "lost" novel For Us, the Living: instead of declaring war, Congress would authorize a war referendum, in which only those eligible for military service could vote. The catch was, everyone voting "Yes" would thereby automatically sign themselves up in the military for the duration. If a further draft was needed, it would first be composed of those that didn't vote, and lastly those who voted "No."
(In the book, the "future" Congress had called war referenda on three occasions; each time, the vote was overwhelmingly "No," and historians believed those decisions were justified.)
