HackerTube's length options should be "long" and "long long".

Judging from the prototype Toyota is clearly not serious about actually producing this ev version.

Hey @simedw this is an awesome project! A few quick ideas in case you hadn't tried them yet: 1. Have you considered representing different parts/voices independently? That would be harder to get good data for, but would likely help with voice-leading and phrasing and... 2. ... durational representation -> would it simplify your durational representation system if you modelled ties? E.g., then you wouldn't need a token to represent a duration worth 4 triplet eighth notes because you could model the tie of a quarter and a single triplet eighth. That would greatly reduce your durational vocab, right? 3. I've created a lot of academic tools for musical syntax analysis for humdrum, CRIM, VIS, and also made a couple of minor contributions to music21. I'd be happy to recommend a few automated analyses that might help the model with syntax or phrasing.

Neat article but I don't get two things: 1. if there are "hard rules" that always override the ranking decisions, why not weight them with a score that is greater than the total possible from the other ranking elements. E.g. if the highest possible score is 100, then a hard rule can have a score of 1,000 so it will override the other decisions no matter what. An even more significant hard rule can be worth 10,000. 2. Since only the top 1 really matters, why not do an nlargest type of thing so that you only do n-1 comparisons instead of (n^2 - n)/2 comparisons?

On mobile my issue is that I use the DDG browser and I'm always in the dark mode on the browser. When a page is too bright I invert the colors on my phone, but since I'm always in dark mode anyway, the extra stuff (url bar etc.) goes from dark to light. I guess I should try some other setups.

That sounds like a good solution but it sounds like a bit of a pain to set up on a mobile. I'll give it a try.

I wish this were available for more languages! It would also be neat to estimate the native language of the speaker, given their pronunciation of the target language, and propose a prioritization of the pronunciation mistakes the language learner should work on first.

Thanks for trying it out! If it's any solace, it's quite difficult for a lot of native English speakers too, but it gets easier. If there's enough interest, it's always possible to add another language. You can already play in Spanish, French, and Galician too.

I made a free daily word game called Eightile. You unscramble letters to form a valid word and get another letter. You win by finding a valid 8-letter word before the time runs out. You can play in English, Spanish, French, or Galician.

It was harder than I expected to automate game creation (I wrote this by hand about 1.5 years ago), and even then it took a bit more effort to get it so it wasn't insanely difficult.

The most regular online following is on bluesky. There's a new game every day at 4am UTC. Enjoy!

Yes but the post is explicitly about images that are initially loaded only on certain devices/screen sizes, hence the need for conditional application of lazy loading.
