If every build is different, no two builds will have the same bug/exploit, so maybe better security??

Alternating and advancing from both ends seems to work, it calls n-1, and n+1 correctly if the previous guess was n, but got no calls in a sequence like - 1, 8, 3, 7, 4, 7, 1, 7, 3, 8, etc

Oh how I wish you guys would hire new grads. I got into kernel dev partly due to zfs and partly due to Redox OS. Well atleast I have worked with Redox now, hopefully someday with you guys too :)

Thank you for the article but what about students who truly have no connections? It seems like a bleak time for us, none in my family work in even a corporation that would need tech people and my friends are in similar boat.

Luckily I was able to complete an internship lately (implemented EEVDF scheduler for Redox OS) but even then, the amount of Rust Junior jobs are so rare that it is proving to not be of much help.

Location: New Delhi, India

Remote: Yes (preferred)

Willing to relocate: Yes

Technologies: Rust, C, Linux, OS Internals, Python, PyTorch, Burn, Git

Résumé/CV: https://himwant.org/resume.pdf

Email: akshitgaur [at] proton [dot] me

Website: https://himwant.org

I am a final-year CS undergrad at JNU (graduating 2027) looking for a Systems / Rust Internship, possibly transitioning into a full-time role after graduation (June 2027).

Recent work:

- Redox OS (RSoC 2026): Re-architected the kernel CPU scheduler from Round-Robin to Interleaved DWRR and finally to EEVDF with per-core runqueues and dynamic work-stealing (782x fairness improvement, 82% latency reduction). Featured on Phoronix (https://www.phoronix.com/news/Redox-OS-Goes-EEVDF).

- Rust & ML Infrastructure: Implemented Depth Anything V3 monocular depth estimation in pure Rust using Burn; contributed foundational ONNX ops.

- OS Internals & Writing: Authoring low-level deep dives bridging academic OS theory to real-world microkernel code. Just launched the "OSTEP & Redox" series: https://himwant.org/series/ostep--redox/

I am primarily interested in teams working on low-level infrastructure, operating systems, hypervisors/virtualization, database storage engines, or high-performance distributed systems. If your team is working on something interesting, even if technically adjacent, feel free to contact me!

I just recently finished my Redox Summer of Code where I implemented the EEVDF scheduler and related parts in the Rust-based microkernel Redox OS (https://himwant.org/posts/redox-eevdf/).

I am now reading through the excellent OSTEP book and documenting topic-by-topic how a real kernel (Redox) tackles the topic. I have covered struct proc and scheduling till now, the next is memory management! (https://himwant.org/series/ostep--redox/)

Redox seems to take inspiration from it and has all things exposed as schemes so /home/user is actually /scheme/file/home/user, etc.

Hi I am the author. Feel free to ask anything.

Hello everyone, I am Akshit Gaur, the student who authored this post.

I spent the summer migrating Redox from Round Robin to Deficit Weighted Round Robin and now finally to EEVDF. It was hard-work, espescially because this was my first time working on a codebase that was not my own.

The move has netted us quite significant gains (including one 782x, read the post for the context ;) ).

I also have the same post mirrored on my personal site (https://himwant.org/posts/redox-eevdf/#did-it-change-anythin...) with the only difference being, a duck speaking sanskrit and an owl translating for her.

Happy to answer any questions!

(P.S. I am entering my final year of CS at JNU and actively looking for a systems/Rust internship for Jan–April 2027, transitioning into a full-time role after. If your team works at the lower levels of the stack, I’d love to connect. My email and resume are on my site: himwant.org)

The problem is not with the poor/small farmers. Those people are genuinely fucked over. The problem are the larger "farmers", quotations because they do not do the farming themselves, rather renting the fields out to landless laborers at extraordinary costs, in a system reminiscent of the medieval feudal systems

There is a difference between invasion and migration though, AIT has long been debunked, the current consensus is AMT

But isn't the entire point of that system prompt to stop the malicious users. The majority of users are not going to ask those requests anyway.
