82 LPA may be an outlier but the range you mentioned is wildly incorrect. I’m an SDE2 making 57 LPA ($70K), and know other SDE2s making >70 LPA ($85K).

What does owning a dollar even mean? Fundamentally, isn’t your dollar bill also a legal certificate with the Fed?

What baffles me is that in the US banking system one can claim refund for a payment made two years ago without a proper legal process! This should significantly reduce trust in the system.

As a business, the money in my bank account can be taken back at any point and the onus of fighting back for it is on me. How is that reasonable?

This information is confidential and only provided under NDA by cloud service providers. In the past, my employer was provided with detailed service dependency documents upon request. But unless you’re a major customer spending millions of dollar every month, you likely can’t request this information.

Constantly reconciling business logic with changing environment is exactly what devs do at GS. GS powers the likes of Apple Card, Stripe Treasury, etc. There’s a lot of engineering required to handle the scale.

There are very few companies that are “technological innovators”. Most SV devs aren’t writing a new distributed system or a process scheduler for the Linux kernel.

I find this style of writing quite playfully elegant. Anyone knows where I can read similar stuff (books, blogs, etc.)?
