I was running my TrackMania 2 community server on one, but decided to self-host it on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 after discovering that an Ethernet adapter existed for it.

As the owner of the PCIe card that measurement was taken from, yes, I’d say it’s quite impressive. The average round-trip latency for a USB audio interface at 48 kHz/128 samples would usually fall somewhere around 8 ms, which is a bit much if you’re monitoring post-FX.

On Linux, we don’t have much in the way of Thunderbolt support for audio interfaces, so the only way to achieve this sort of latency has traditionally been with PCIe or PCI audio interfaces. Having a low-cost, infinitely more portable solution would be very welcome.

If you can't disable it, it's not a feature.

I've edited well over a thousand hours of video on my (Debian) DaVinci Resolve workstation. It's a rock-solid video editor that I can spend a day in without having to worry about a crash.

But I desperately wish Blackmagic would bring support for VST3 plugins and JACK to Linux. Or, at the very least, allow me to use my MIDI control surface in Fairlight on Linux.

As it stands, I have to do all of my audio production in Reaper, and that's a bit cumbersome.

I've already encountered two instances of something I was interested in learning about being linked using Nitter / XCancel, and those links are now quite deceased.

Please link to primary sources. If I need an alternative method of accessing the site, I'll figure it out.

I’d like to be optimistic and say we’d have about a week before things started getting Mad Max-y out here in the suburbs.

I'm blocking the Amazon search crawler, anything coming from Googleusercontent, and limiting AI crawlers to search rather than allowing AI assistants. The residential proxy waves are something to behold, but Cloudflare does an okay job catching those in the AI labyrinth. Still, it's all a bit silly, and I can't imagine what large sites deal with when I'm tangoing with this much nonsense on a small tech blog.

My Raspberry Pi 4 has been used to run both a Jitsi and Trackmania server over the years. I never considered using the SD card since it can boot and run from a USB 3 flash drive. Later on, I picked up an Argon One case to add a SATA SSD.

Thankfully, modern Rockchip SBCs tend to come with NVMe slots.

Played around with it a bit this morning. It ships as an AppImage and the launcher opened a browser that allowed me to create an account and bounced me back to the launcher to log into RuneScape.
