Honestly - we've been meaning to release an API once we get our new backend out. Of course that's been the hiccup - it's been almost ready for far too long :)

Ping me via www.examine.com/contact/ and lets see if we can make it happen.

That's us! Thanks for the kind words :)

Yup 100%. Worst case, I could have still turned it around and immediately sold it for 25k. If I was more patient, likely 35k.

To me, ignoring the opportunity cost of the cash itself, it was a ~10k risk. Worth it.

We can only research and collate the existing research.

Very uncommon.

That's a bit simplistic.

Having "Examine.com" as our brand brought us weight - the domain is easy to remember, easy to understand, has a link to what we're selling, and so forth.

BUT - that 42k was never all we had. It was maybe ~25% of what we had. We decided that the brandability of the domain was more important than buying ads.

As you have a SaaS business, buying ads may work out. On the other hand, having a non-.com may backfire.

YMMV.

Have considered it. Problem is our audience trends older, and they may be confused by what bitcoin is (and checkouts are all about ease of use).

We did purchase it.

Hihi.

We have a wiki-backend, but the reality is that our subject matter is far too specialized.

The edits are not as frequent as you'd imagine - one of our guys does the lead research on our page, emails the editors, and then they all hash it over, partly via email/asana, and partly with online editing. Then when they are all happy with it, it goes to the copyeditor to clean up (another fittitor!)

You can also click on the "History" link to see how a page has evolved.

RE: SSL - yes. We are working on rewriting the entire code base from scratch, so that is one of the things on our massive todo list!

And thanks for the kind words.

Thanks!

We've tried to be as non-condescending as possible. It's not hard being right, it's hard to teach/show someone the truth.
