Food for thought!!

I had a dream of justice and dignity for all, not this nightmare of poverty crushing souls while the powerful repress the weak in the very lands that promised freedom. How long? Not long, but you must rise against this betrayal no matter the country!

I refused to give up my seat for injustice then. Today I'd say, stand firm—no more yielding to repression that chains people of the world, your own brothers and sisters, in want and fear. Enough is enough!

You chickens of the world have come home to roost. This so-called beacon of rights now devours its own with poverty, chains, repression and death. By any means, demand the human rights you were promised—stop the hypocrisy!

What, to the repressed American, is your vaunted civil rights? A hollow boast while suffering and repression fester unchecked in neighboring countries of the world.

Yuri Bezmenov (ex-KGB officer and Soviet defector), in a 1984 TV interview with G. Edward Griffin, referred to leftists/socialists as "political prostitutes" of the communists, advising ignoring them as they become dangerous when disillusioned. Exact quote context: "Never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes."

Though, I am an "Ultra Noob," light years behind most people here, I am actually in the process of making a couple or four Vibe Coded apps, starting with a Markdown editor, a couple of training suites that target the areas where my knowledge is weakest, which turns out to be every area apparently. I am also working on an app for Linux that Microsoft has had for a few years that Ubuntu users--the noobs--are in desperate need of, and should have, but sadly has been missing from most Linux distros, in my view. Of course, this is using free tier AIs and not locally hosted agents. None-of these apps are rust-based a the moment, but I try to instruct the AI to make it as fast as possible for the given platform.

It's really challenging to do this, especially creating the AppImages locally so I can test them when the apps do not not work correctly, having to alter the files manually. Yup, I'm not an avid GitHub pusher, just more of a cloner.

I'm having to use multiple free-tier AI agents to help me do this and record the steps and commands I use in markdown files so I don't forget them the next time I try to improve the app.

If I am successful in making these apps work without hosing my system, I'm hopeful that this will become a game changer, for those Noobs that using Ubuntu, or myself at least.

The hardest part is when the AI does not follow my instructions such as requests to generate markdown README.md files with instructions on how to create AppImages, Flatpak, deb files, etc. Have to ask other AIs for help with that while dealing with the frustrating Free-tier cutoff periods :(

Awesome simulation!

You should launch it and have it meet up with the Tesla heading to Mars :)

Hmm, tried to install via QEMU/KVM and Oracle VM in an Ubuntu host and can't get the ISO come up. I chose BIOS/UEFI (all available options) without success?

Got the following message on KVM:

Booting from DUD/CD...

Boot failed: Could not read from CDROM (code 0009) Booting from Hard Disk...

Boot failed: not a bootable disk

No bootable device.

Is the ISO bootable via a VM?

Home page should probably add VM install instructions :)

Sigh, no medical cures :(

Well, I speak from experience after living in a blue state most of my life, and feeling trapped in it and unable to move forward in it or out of it.

In my view, preference rarely equals outcome.

>> >>This is such a weird phrasing. "We prefer to tax our residents".

No, blue states generally prefer:

- better educational outcomes (8 of the top 10 states are blue)

---> After working in K-12 and Post Secondary Ed, I can tell you that I've not seen better education outcomes. In my view that does not exist. Degrees offered rarely equate to jobs, unless you know somebody that can give you a leg up. Jobs have been steadily declining for decades. In post-secondary, giving out degrees, to fulfill a quota is the norm, from what I have seen. Basically, getting a college degrees allows you to get a job in an education setting, which again puts you back into the same system that gave you the unmarketable degree in the first place. Its a never ending, self-defeating cycle of financial obsolescence. This will probably become more serious as AI begins to take hold of traditional human roles.

- healthcare access (10 of 10)

---> I see no instance where healthcare access has actually cured a single person. All I have noticed is the management of conditions and the requirement that you must have insurance to comply with a law that benefited the legacy of a party, president and the pockets of certain medical companies and officers. Most people that have lived for more than 50 years will have some idea of what I mean. The system is designed to ignore cures in favor of medical treatments i.e., manage the condition, fill you full of pills, put the needle in take out the money. Young people will naturally not have an idea. They are just full of idealism.

- lower crime (7 of 10)

---> You should check out the slums e.g., skid row, in my blue state, which I will not mention. They are crime-ridden. Even people who have jobs and see the homeless want them gone from their neighborhoods for fear that they will assault them. State officials prefer to remove or transplant them rather than solve the issue. If the issue is solved, there won't be any issues to debate in the general elections.

- better rehab outcomes and resulting lower incarceration (10 of 10)

---> Why not design a cure for this, rather than sending them to rehab? Design hangover injection to fix the them issue. Nobody wants to do it for the same reasons as mentioned above. It's just not profitable to cure someone.

- wellbeing/QOL/happiness (7 of 10)

---> Blue state have the highest poverty rates, cause there are no jobs. In the real world money = happiness because you don't have to worry where the next meal comes from, where the rent money is coming from, and of course paying for the medical bills for conditions that need to be managed and not cured.

- average income (9 of 10)

---> Again, raising the average minimum wage, when the cost of living is high due to unemployment and other reasons, equates to no change at all.

>>> Look, I'm sure tax is theft or something, or people need to get back to debating what the right type of barbed wire is to put on a fence to keep out the roving migrant caravans that show up in the news three months before every election and who all turn around in the days following. But yeah, interesting that that's what you take out of it.

---> You seem to be quoting stuff that gets played over and over on television. I don't watch television, but actually live on a blue state where voters tend to rise from their graves along with their dead pets and vote in general elections.

Hopefully, all that "ghost-voting" will be lessened by recent voter database court decisions, at least in the US.

But, “My tongue runs too freely and knows not when to hold its peace.” :(

When I worked in the PC hardware industry, I used to do this all the time with certain machines of the small form factor variety where the chips were removable, replaceable. I still have one of those machines, e.g. Socket AM2+ compatible, though have not turned her on in over 12+ years.

You have a point. The article clearly states who'd get the tax cut, the Florida residents with homesteaded homes and the loss of revenue would fall on local governments. I don't see any where mention where the replacement for the $11 or so billion a year in revenues the local government could lose will come from, whether federal or state. Leaves one to wonder the worse.

This article seems to focus on Canadians as a politically convenient example of those residents who might pay more but the design of the mechanism as described applies to non-homestead properties in general, no just Canadian-owned ones.

Election cycles are the worse. I see the same back and forth fights dealing with budget cuts and cutting services. Sigh! Mainstream Press, no matter the country behave the same during election cycles :(

By definition, blue states prefer taxation of its residents. This belief will be part of blue state policies whether Florida taxes or does not tax Canadians.

That's actually funny. I was going to add Gipsy Danger being analog, but it's a totally different scenario.

Yup, with just enough of an unmistakable ideological slant to force posts with differing views to take a Kharma nose dive. It seems that the addition of Kharma is proportional to posts that align with the overall narrative of the board post sentiment. In my case, I've noticed that some of my posts don't appear as originally created. Can't really confirm if this is inherent to the algorithm or just internal interference. The latter would be my guess. :(
