I’ve never had a more pleasurable experience than snowboarding. It really sharpens the senses and requires that you focus on the riding, ie don’t ride while imbibed or high, listening to music, etc.

Just you, on a plank, pointed downwards.

My unexpected benefit was wanting to live near the snow, which meant thinking really hard about if leaving the big city was worth it. Living in the rural countryside next to a mountain is amazing.

The real story hidden somewhere down below

> In the aftermath of her arrest, Marvin has found out more about the legal infrastructure that protects robots. In 2020, the Pennsylvania legislature passed a law that classifies autonomous delivery robots — what the law calls “personal delivery devices” — as pedestrians, not vehicles. Democrats, along with labor unions and accessibility advocates, largely opposed the law on the basis that legalizing delivery robots could kill jobs and endanger children and pedestrians; Republicans touted it as an exciting technological advancement.

> The law means that a vehicle must yield to a delivery robot on crosswalks, just as it would to a person

Tom Hardy’s portrayal of a younger Picard clone disproves the notion that anyone else could’ve been Picard.

Even then, it was still clear that Sir Patrick was now a frail, old man and only more obvious in the Picard series.

I think it wasn’t just that he was an ordinary astrophysicist, but that he wasn’t very good at his job and you could see it in the way people treated him. He was unwanted and looked down upon.

Use my tech skills for vertical integration in an old industry where regulations require a licensed operator.

Specifically, I’m training to be a CPA and the idea is to absorb a couple of small 1 man firms and write software to make them more efficient, then expand.

Unless the American conscious has had a mass amnesia in the past few years, I could swear that pattern is common in American English. It’s probably a bad example but I clearly remember hearing it a lot in the 90s, often on television shopping channels (bored kid is bored) but also in sitcoms and the like.

My American media consumption tapered off to mostly popular movies after the 00s so maybe there was a change after.
