I've always found the NUT setup process to be ridiculously complicated. Here's the setup under Windows (and I'm no fan of Windows, I mean who is?):
1. Plug in UPS.
2. Battery icon appears.
Here's the same setup process under Linux:
1. Plug in UPS.
2. Spend ages messing around with config files and accounts and network ports and names and options and another set of config files and even more config files and clients and servers and services and even more config files and more account settings.
3. Sometimes things work.
Why is it so ridiculously complicated to set up? For 99.9% of users they're plugging in a glorified battery, why does it need a full-blown client-server architecture with dozens of settings and options to do it?
