I read this article and the first thing I thought about is “What kind of a mind created FFmpeg?”. And, turns out, an exceptional brilliant mind — it’s the same person who created QEMU and tcc. But, having interacted with FFmpeg CLI, maybe also an overly pedantic and insufferable mind. A mind that is inhumanly brilliant and expects everyone around them to be as smart. Which is fair for FFmpeg — it chose accuracy over convenience. But the interface is so obtuse it’s unreal. It’s the radial opposite of what the article is praising.
