The third space comparison here is surprisingly convincing. I guess you'd also walk in mid convo (or to silence) and have to ask what was going on in a physical meeting spot. I very much like my logs and staying connected (I just run irssi in tmux on a server that's always on anyway) and wouldn't do without them, though.
