I'm a psychiatry resident and dev : I self host as much as I can and am a big fan of optimizing stuff for browser side processing and static websites. This allows me to have pretty complex websites on the cheapest VPS I could find. Some of my sites even include embedding search over hundreds of thousands of chunks within milliseconds.
