People loved ODST despite it not being a Chief story, so honestly I think that's just an excuse players came up with after the fact. The rest is a PvP complaint, so for those of us who seldomly played online the game felt fine. I'm not saying there weren't problems, but I think PvP players are a very loud group whose input overrides people who enjoyed the PvE experience.
