Doesn't it go directly against EU common market rules? I mean, I can start a company in Germany with the sole purpose to buy chips and sell them to a Polish company. If EU interferes that would be breaking the main purpose of it - a common market and free movement of people and goods.

It's a slap towards EU from Biden's admin. Thankfully as of today they are gone. Let's hope Trump's administration presents a more EU friendly view on this issue.
