There are few of these e-bike companies which are basically marketing, branding, sales sitting on top of Chinese suppliers.

I think they are getting squeezed and soon you will be buying Chinese brands (like Xiaomi) sold from chain electronics stores or their own website.

It has already happened with e scooters.
