This is neat. I'm deaf, so I have to write people all the time with big text. I have a mobile app that does this, but it's neat you have something web based. Thanks for this. I'm going to self-host it as I can see a lot of use and I don't want to spam your servers.

Thanks!

Your link is from over 10 years ago. I can't find any newer information on it persisting. Perhaps they turned it off after they got caught? Or perhaps it was an outage or some thing and not actual filtering? I don't know.

All email providers have issues now and again.

I'm not saying they aren't doing it, but if they are, nobody seems to be complaining or upset about it except those few in that forum from over a decade ago.

I use Migadu(migadu.com), but Apple's iCloud email hosting is basically tailor fit to your expectations, so I don't have any idea why you don't use it.

But you can host your own email too. It's not the easiest option, but it can be done, and there has been some newer email server software written that tries to make it easier.

Yes, let's hope it doesn't get even more expensive. Around here we are purposely not upgrading hardware unless we have to, hoping to ride through the price increases. I'm sure lots of people are doing the same thing, which probably won't help much once prices start to come back down... assuming they do.

> Ah, memories of Uni, back when storage was fairly expensive, where we had both hard and soft quotas.

Don't worry, disk got expensive again. Disks are usually at least 2X more expensive than a year ago currently. Sometimes 3X more.

Looks like the address is 2918 mission, still no apartment complex there according to web maps, though the laundromat building is demolished it seems. So perhaps by 2034, a good 20 years since the start of the project.

Sounds like the sign of a badly run department. If they can't have some continuity/consistency, people will build less because it's a hassle and their community will eventually suffer.

you might get screwed on regulatory compliance, it just depends on your local govt and how much they want to screw you.

It's got to suck to do the inspectors job. Having to keep up with whatever the code creators come up with, while also getting abused by every home owner and contractor in the area because they hate X,Y or Z. While trying to dodge political leverage from elected officials trying to get whatever pet mess they want done.

It's not a job I'd want, and I bet they get paid trash to boot.

Code compliance and inspections exist for a reason, and if you are lucky, the current inspector/code compliance dept in your local govt realizes it's to ensure the building doesn't fall down around your ankles when you least expect it and not to screw you over.

You can put in an awning or covered walkway between the buildings. You can even do a fully enclosed, fully climate controlled hallway with lots of windows and doors out to the yard, etc. Just depends on how much you want to pay and your imagination.

I've seen some properties where they build ponds underneath the indoor hallway with glass flooring to see the fish and stuff in the pond. Obviously wild things like that cost a bit more then a simple awning or covered walkway.

Not Montana apparently. They don't even have an HVAC contractor license anymore that I can find.

I don't think so? I mean they certainly lack ethics, but I think it's a point of pride thing, and not a we should at least pretend sort of thing.

Oracle at least pretends to care about ethics, and already has the position.

Or maybe Oracle.
