We have tried applying Brazilian laws to these companies and they have run to the US president to transform that into a diplomatic issue. We should have domestic social platforms that actually abide by Brazilian laws faster and without such issues. This has become, not just for Brasil, a huge issue. They are extensions of the US soft power and the companies and the government are using it to make what they want to happen, happen.

The stakeholders should be held accountable to this. C level and PMs. Otherwise they just push what they believe will be better, no matter what developers say.

They are hidden behind the enormous mass of bullshit, so its much harder to find. I keep trying to find new blogs to follow and I find it very hard to do so. HN is basically the last place I can find it.

Steve Jobs will be forever be remembered as an asshole.

Brazil is trying that and getting a bad look from the USA. Can you imagine a smaller nation doing the same? What would the USA do?

The fact that people say "I've read 30 books last year" when they heard the book is absurd to me. It is a completely (and honestly quite interesting) medium. I've heard and then read a few books and the experiences are completely different. Also, one of mine biggest things for reading is to completely focus on the text, and the audio book is almost the antithesis of this, because most people like them so they can do chores/driving _and_ listen. Two completely different ways of experiencing the text.

Yeah, boiling water with lemon helps, but without it my wife has a lot more gases. One article that they tested, can't explain it properly and we have seen over and over working, I very much don't believe they did it right

The article I posted mentions they tested it and it works, but not completely.

When doing college we can only start using those tools when we understand the principles behind them.

Executives always justify their own bizarre salary by saying that they make the decisions, but they never lose their position when those decisions are shit. They fire a bunch of developers and "refocus" like this article. The labor, who probably were against a bunch of this shit in the first place, take the blame.

Are you equating covid to the common cold? If so, this comment is absurd.

Yeah, this is bizarre that we just accepted.

"oh, we get so much content that we can't possibly review it all" then don't accept anymore content from anyone?

Honestly, the fact that these companies are too big is a big big concern. We should have limited their size long ago and never accepted that bullshit excuse.
